Strawberry Milkshake
6 Apr
Strawberries are in the market – exorbitant as they always are in India – but allow yourself a little indulgence. And take heart that you get the REAL deal when you make strawberry milkshake at home – no gooey magenta syrup that the juicewalla surreptitiously adds to the blender.
Strawberry milkshake is also disarmingly quick and easy to make if you have all the ingredients right there with you.
You Need:
- Chilled milk – 2 glasses
- Vanilla ice-cream – 1 scoop
- Fresh ripe strawberries – 8 to 10
- Sugar – 3 teaspoons (adjust according to taste)
How To Make Strawberry Milkshake:
Pluck the greens out from the strawberries and slice the fruit. Put the slices in the blender with the sugar and blend smooth. Add 1/4th of the milk and blend again.
Then add the rest of the milk and ice-cream, and give the whole one final spin.
Serve strawberry milkshake immediately in tall glasses. [Serves two]
Notes:
- If you add all the milk before the strawberries are fully blended, you’ll get larger fruit chunks in the milkshake. I like it blended finer.
- Garnishing suggestion: a thin strawberry slice on the side and a dollop of ice-cream on top.
- Looking for more milkshakes? Try mango shake or banana chocolate shake.
